The movie utilized a lot of concert footage, which wasn’t always a bad thing. It can help the audience see the size of the crowds they would perform for. However, I felt that some of these clips were a bit too long. It would’ve been nice to use that time to talk more about the band. I know the documentary is called Becoming Led Zeppelin, and it makes sense that they talk about the beginnings of the band, but as someone whose favorite Zeppelin album is Led Zeppelin IV, I would’ve loved to hear more about how they created that album.
The most special part of the documentary, however, was hearing John Bonham. He died in 1980, so there are not many interviews of him. This was the first time fans got to hear this interview he did before he died. They did a great job of putting it throughout the documentary, and the movie even ended with Bonham talking about his fellow bandmates and how much they meant to him. It was a great addition to the documentary.

We all know that Jimmy Page is one of the best guitarists of all time, but it was interesting to see how much influence he had when it came to Led Zeppelin. He was the one who got them signed with Atlantic Records, and he also became a producer of their albums. He also made sure to showcase each of their talents as well. He would talk about how he did different sounds and overlays for different songs, especially for Whole Lotta Love off of Led Zeppelin II. He also talked about how Keith Moon of The Who was the one who suggested the name Led Zeppelin.
Led Zeppelin is easily one of the best bands of all time. They blew up in America and have become a household name. They would even topple The Beatles in the music charts. Whether you are a die-hard or casual fan, this documentary will give you more insight into the band and who they are. It was a fun time, and it was great to see each member, including Bonham, talk about the group. It’s a must-see for any Led Zeppelin fan.
