Everything We Know About Adria Arjona’s Bix Caleen in 'Star Wars: Andor'
Andor, the new series from Star Wars debuted Wednesday on Disney+ to fantastic reviews. As a favorite from Rogue One, fans are excited to see the origins of Cassian Andor. Of course, with a new show comes new characters, and Adria Arjona’s Bix Caleen is quickly becoming a fan favorite, even with only 3 episodes available. Here’s what we know so far…
Arjona plays Bix Caleen, a mechanic from the planet Ferrix who is a lifelong friend of Andor. Arjona describes Bix,
“I mean, she is incredibly practical and fearless and bold and loyal, even sometimes to her own detriment. She cares so deeply about the people around her, and it really takes her on a journey. So I’m in love with her in a way. I just think she’s the coolest.”

Bix Caleen works at Timm Karlo’s salvage yard, where she is not only a mechanic but also Karlo’s lover. Working at the salvage yard, she has connections to black market sellers and buyers, including Luthen Rael. For the most part, she keeps her black market dealings from Timm until he follows her and discovers that her “errands” are not as innocent as she led him to believe.
When Cassian shows up at the scrap yard to ask Bix to reach out to one of her contacts, you can immediately sense that there is history between the two. “they’ve been through a lot,” Arjona previews. “There’s trust that’s been broken, you can feel that tension…. You can also feel the love that they have for each other. But time has never been on their side.”
It’s worth noting when Arjona auditioned for Andor, she almost didn’t get on the train to take her from Paris to London due to the uncertainty at the beginning of the pandemic. It was only after a phone call with her mother all the way in Puerto Rico did she get on the train. Once Arjona arrived in London, she did an in-person reading with Diego Luna and director Tony Gilroy lasting all of 10 minutes. Immediately after the reading, Gilroy informed her that she had gotten the job. The chemistry between Luna and Arjona is natural and doesn’t seem forced, making their character interactions believable.
