After 22 Years 'Star Wars’ Fans Finally Learned What Happened To Yaddle
Jedi Master Yaddle was not a character we saw much of in Star Wars. In The Phantom Menace, she had a spot on the council but wasn’t seen much afterward, as she went missing during The Clone Wars. After 22 years, however, we get to see more of Yaddle, and even find out what happens to her.
In Tales Of The Jedi, Yaddle’s fate is revealed. She is killed at the hands of Dooku. After Qui Gon’s death, Yaddle finds Dooku near a tree he used to bring Qui Gon to. She mentions the funeral on Naboo, and he declines. She then decides to follow him, to his meeting with Darth Sidious. She reveals herself, and Sidious tells Dooku to “kill her”.

They duel it out until she is ultimately “crushed” by the door. She uses the force one last time to pry the door open, before falling on the floor and being killed by Dooku. Before murdering Yaddle, he mentions that it’s too late for him, which solidifies his turn to the Dark Side. During their fight, Yaddle reveals that she gave up her council seat because she agreed with Dooku about the council and what the Jedi order was becoming.
Bryce Dallas Howard voices Yaddle in the animated mini-series. She is no stranger to Star Wars, as she has directed a few episodes of The Mandalorian. She is a huge fan of Grogu, so it’s only right that she gets to voice one of his kind. Her voice to the character is a delight, and it was a treat to find out that not all of their species talk weirdly.
Yaddle’s death was sad. As there are not many of Yoda’s species in Star Wars, so seeing her die, and the species become even more limited is sad. She also tried her best to turn Dooku back to the light side and even revealed to him that she gave up her council seat. I really wish we got to see more of Yaddle in the prequels, and even The Clone Wars. Her death also happened without the knowledge of the order or the council, so it explains why she just went missing after The Phantom Menace.
I hope someone found her body and gave her the proper Jedi funeral she deserved.
