Agent Kallus

Most people associate Fulcrum with Ahsoka, but she’s not the only one to have assumed the codename. During Star Wars Rebels, Alexandr Kallus also played a key role as an informant under the alias. So far, Ahsoka has given us Hera Synduall, Sabine Wren, Jacen Syndulla, and Ezra BridgerCaptain Rex, another honorary member of the Specters has also shown up in a flashback. David Filoni seems to be working his way down the list of major Star Wars Rebels characters. But there’s one man that’s not had a sniff of a mention yet.  Star Wars fans who have avoided the animations might be unfamiliar with Agent Kallus aka ISB-021, but those mutton chops are infamous in Star Wars Rebels.

Hello, World!

Who Is Agent Kallus?

Kallus was originally a staunch imperial, rising through the ranks by killing rebels, especially Saw Gerrera’s crew. He participated in the eradication of the Lasats after they rose up against the Empire. One of the Lasat warriors he defeated gave Kallus a bo-rifle, the distinctive weapon of the Lasat Honor Guard. Garazeb (Zeb), the Lasat Ghost crew member recognized the bo-rife, and they became mortal enemies, for a while at least. Kallus worked closely with Darth Vader during his time on Lothal and had a promising career ahead of him in the Imperial Security Bureau.

RELATED:

Kallus and Zeb became stranded on an icy moon of Geonosis. Their survival depended on a small heat-producing meteorite and each other. The pair eventually get back to their respective crews after Kallus hears some home truths about the Empire, and to make matters worse, none of his colleagues have noticed that Kallus has been absent. Viewers get a long shot of him sitting sadly on his bunk, the meteorite that had kept him warm, glowing by his side.

Later in the series we find out, this was the moment he decided to become Fulcrum. When Thrawn arrives on Lothal with the Chimaera he is eventually unmasked. Thrawn swiftly realizes that there is a spy amongst the ranks and systematically narrows the number of possible traitors. Kallus is caught, but his new best buddy, Zeb sweeps in to save him. Kallus is instrumental during the Battle of Lothal, and without his defection, the planet would have stayed in Thrawn’s grasp.

If He’s Not In ‘Ahsoka’, Where Is He?

The surviving Lasats returned to their fabled origin homeworld of Lira Sun. At the end of Star Wars Rebels Season 4, Zeb takes Kallus, but there’s no word if he stays. Kallus isn’t the type to sit still for long.

Zeb had his first live-action appearance in The Mandalorian season 3, at a New Republic base on Nevarro. There’s a good chance that Kallus is with him. Nevarro is located on the Hydrian Way, on the other side of the galaxy from Lothal, Corellia, and most of the other planets in Ahsoka. It makes it a little difficult for him to bump into Sabine and Hera.

However, Jon Favreau has confirmed that he is writing season 4 of The Mandalorian. With the Ghost Crew proving popular. It's much more likely the pair could pop up there. After all, Din Djarin does have a nice little farmhouse on the same world.

It’s about time we saw those mutton chops in live-action.
