C-3PO Is Everywhere As 'Ahsoka' Marks His Twelfth Live-Action Appearance

Ahsoka has been the perfect continuation to Star Wars Rebels which ended with season 4. While the show focuses on Ahsoka, it also continues to the stories of the members of the Ghost crew, like Sabine and Hera, both of which play an essential part in Ahsoka’s story. However, the show has given us a few exciting, long-awaited cameos. We have seen the return, and introduction to live action, of Thrawn and Ezra Bridger. In the most recent episode, however, fans were treated to an unexpected cameo, one of a familiar gold protocol droid that every Star Wars fan will recognize.

Anthony Daniels reprised his role as the iconic protocol droid, and this makes C-3PO’s 12th appearance in live-action. While Hera is in front of the New Republic council, Threepio comes in to save Hera from getting her title of General taken away. He is there on behalf of Leia Organa, someone we know had influence during the days of the New Republic.

Threepio has continued to enchant fans worldwide and has solidified Daniels as the sole portrayer of Threepio. This cameo could open up other opportunities for other characters from the original trilogy to appear in Ahsoka. We’ve already seen Luke interact with Ahsoka in The Mandalorian, and Leia was in an episode of Rebels, so seeing her, and others, wouldn’t be too far-fetched.

There is only one episode left of Ahsoka, and I have a feeling we’re in for an exciting finale. With Thrawn’s return, it’s possible that parts of the Legends book, Heir To The Empire could be adapted. If Thrawn indeed succeeds in his plan, then the New Republic would have to band together to defeat the formidable foe. This would be an excellent way to reintroduce beloved characters into live action. For now, the nostalgia of C-3PO will comfort fans, until the finale.

New episodes of Ahsoka are released every Tuesday at 6 PM PT/9 PM ET on Disney+.
