The Hayden Christensen renaissance is in full swing. It first started with his appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi and continues with Ahsoka. It's absolutely wonderful to see Hayden back in his role as Anakin Skywalker, and this time praised by the fandom. After an actor who went through so much when the prequels were released, he’s finally getting the love he deserves. In Ahsoka, he plays an essential part in her story in the World Between Worlds.

The World Between Worlds brought fans back to the Clone Wars. We got to see a young Ahsoka, played by Ariana Greenblatt, following her Master, Anakin Skywalker. Hayden reprises his role as Anakin, but this is the first time we get to see the actor participate in the events of the Clone Wars. He is sporting the iconic The Clone Wars armor from the series and even has his hair styled the way Anakin did in the early The Clone Wars seasons. Seeing Hayden put his spin on the Clone Wars version of Anakin was also great to see.

Later, during the live-action Seige Of Mandalore scene, we see Anakin sporting his iconic black robes and long hair. His scar also makes an appearance. This is pretty much a copy of his character from Revenge Of The Sith when he was flirting with the Darkside. His hair, like it did in The Clone Wars, changed throughout the episode. By the end though, he had his signature long hair that he did in Revenge of the Sith and season 7 of The Clone Wars

The Clone Wars scenes took place between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of The Sith, so it was crucial that Anakin looked younger during those scenes. Lucasfilm used CGI to digitally deage Christensen, for him to look the part. Since Hayden portrayed Anakin originally in the prequels, it seems ILM was able to blend his prequels performance and his Ahsoka performance, to give him that perfect young look, without going too much into uncanny valley. He did however look a bit different when he was in the World Between Worlds. ILM was able to utilize smoke and other effects during Clone Wars scenes to make the CGI less noticeable, but the same could not be said for the World Between Worlds scenes, so the CGI is a bit more noticeable during these scenes.

Anakin seemed to have completed Ahsoka’s training during episode 5, but he could appear one more time before the season ends. This wouldn’t be too surprising, as Ahsoka’s story continues, and Anakin was an essential part of her story for such a long time. I will never complain about seeing Hayden back as Anakin either, so I hope we do see him at least once more before the season ends.

New episodes of Ahsoka are released every Tuesday at 6 PM PT/ 9 PM ET on Disney+.
