Announced Friday afternoon, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures will take place in the High Republic Era. The show will focus on a group of younglings as they train in the ways of the Force and gain a deeper understanding of the Jedi Code. Young Jedi Adventures is slated to premiere on Disney Junior and Disney+. The show is aimed at young viewers, but fans shouldn't dismiss it for that alone.

Star Wars: Rebels was initially aimed at younger audiences and gained a very devout following, The Clone Wars animated series is another example. If anything, the show should garner excitement as it is the second piece of Star Wars media taking place in the era before The Phantom Menace. This announcement confirms that Lucasfilm is moving away from its legacy properties, and committing to a new direction for the future of Star Wars. The show also might be the perfect tie-in for a younger version of Grandmaster Yoda.

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures is slated to premiere on Disney+ and Disney Junior in the Spring of 2023. For right now, while the details are scarce, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures is something to watch for on the horizon. From what they have announced, it seems the series will be one of the leads in ushering in a new era of Star Wars.
