Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania received mixed responses upon release. Michael Douglas, the man who has played Hank Pym in the last few films, has portrayed the recurring character for many years now. The actor had some things to say regarding the role. During Douglas’ promotional interview for the Apple TV+ series Franklin on the popular talk show The View, some interesting information regarding his Marvel Studios character, Hank Pym, was revealed.

Douglas wanted this specific outcome before he agreed to return, (via Variety), "This actually was my request for the third one. I said I’d like to have a serious [death], with all these great special effects.” The actor had a creative idea for the potential death with the quality special effects they had access to, “There’s got to be some fantastic way where I can shrink to an ant size and explode, whatever it is. I want to use all those effects.” He wrapped the statement up, “But, that was on the last one. Now, I don’t think I’m going to show up." Douglas may not step back into the role of Hank Pym in the future.
