'Constantine' Sequel Starring Keanu Reeves Confirmed By Warner Bros.

It looks like fans of the 2005 supernatural thriller, Constantine, won't have to wait much longer for a sequel, as one was just officially announced by Warner Brothers, who have decided to resurrect the DC character. There have been whispers about a sequel for a while, especially after the 15-year reunion that occurred at comic con between Reeves and Lawrence. 

Keanu Reeves will return to the title role of John Constantine and director Francis Lawrence will be returning. Akiva Goldman will write the screenplay and produce the film, alongside J.J Abrams and Hannah Minghella. There is no word on what the plot will be yet, but this will be the first time Reeves has played the character in nearly 20 years. Reeves has always voiced a desire to reprise his role of John Constantine, and it looks like his wish will be coming true.

Constantine tells the story of a supernatural exorcist and demonologist, He has the ability to see angels and demons influencing regular people. Constantine is determined to send every last demon to solidify his place in Heaven. There is also a battle between archangel Gabriel and Lucifer, which Constantine gets in the middle of. The original film grossed over $200 worldwide.

With all the recent news coming out of Warner Brothers, this is definitely something that fans can look forward to. Fans have been wanting a sequel since its original release 17 years ago. It seems like this sequel will have been worth the wait after all these years, especially with both Keanu Reeves and director Francis Lawrence returning.
