'Star Wars' Fan Reacts To The Newest Clip From 'Andor'

Since its announcement, has been a lot of talk regarding what kind of show Star Wars: Andor will be. Whether it would focus more on the espionage involved with building out the rebellion, or if it would be more of a political thriller surrounding the events in the years before the Original Trilogy takes place. One thing is for sure, this newest clip from Andor shows that the series may well be Lucasfilm's first attempt at a prestige drama, and Andor definitely could pull it off. Focusing on Cassian Andor, one of the more extreme rebels in Rogue One, director Tony Gilroy promises us that the show will be all about what motivates Cassian. 

From what we see in this brief clip, it appears to be money. Cassian meets with a stranger before the clip starts, and noticeably when the clip begins, the first thing at play is a sum of credits the unknown man flashes to Cassian. Perhaps the money is to ensure the safe delivery of the box of cargo that sits between them. Cargo stolen from an Imperial Naval base somehow falls right into Cassian Andor's lap. The stranger wants to know how Cassian acquired the cargo; during this moment as Cassian describes how easy it is to steal from the Empire you can see the anger rising through him. This is the Cassian we see at the beginning of Rogue One, the only question is how did he get here?
