You can carry around a gun or a phone or brick or any other inanimate object to do a slew of ridiculous actions.
The good thing about this game is that there are also NPCs who think you are simply a squirrel, collecting nuts, and preparing for the winter. But you are not. You are bent on doing what you want to do and not worrying about what may happen to you when you cross the street. Despite the endless opportunities you have you also can go after the big nut, the big treasure, like the muskrat in Ice Age. But this time you can be smart enough to solve puzzles and follow the path to the reward at the end and be completely prepared for the winter.
