'The Legend Of Vox Machina' Season 3 Episodes 4-6 Spoiler-Free Review

Season 3 of The Legend Of Vox Machina keeps getting better and better. The stakes keep rising every episode, and defeating Thordak will not be easy. Unfortunately, they need the vestiges to have a chance, and getting those proves to be a whole task in itself. Luckily, using their skills, they successfully get another one. Six episodes have been released, and this batch of episodes has been the best so far, especially episode six.
Going to hell is never easy, and Vox Machina, minus Percy and Vex, have proven that. They had their work cut out for them and almost lost their souls. Pike, however, was able to believe in herself and saved the group. One of the coolest moments in this episode was the Calamity mentioned and how it was shown. It was done in beautiful stained glass, like the animation. It was such a great way to incorporate one of their side campaigns. The episodes also featured one of the coolest fights so far, which was between Vorugal, an ancient white dragon, and a demon from the Hells. It gave some time for Vox Machina to gain an advantage, which they did. There were some great team-up moments from the group as well, especially with Keyleth and Vex. The best episode, in my opinion, however, was episode three. Here, we were introduced to Chateau Shorthalt, in the most Sam Reigel way possible, through an extravagant song set to a montage. The group swimming was part of the montage, with Grog’s cannonball included as well. We also got to see the famous bathtub scene between Vex and Percy. The scene was just as iconic as it was in the original campaign. I love that they are including all of the ridiculous things Laura Bailey did as Vex. Even though episode 3 had some fun vibes, those vibes changed immediately when they returned to Whitestone. Due to a certain dragon, the city wasn’t the same as when they left.

While the show has been pretty close to how the campaign went, they have changed and added some things to the show, which isn’t a bad thing. One of these was including a Calamity character and having them share what happened. This wasn’t a moment that happened in the original campaign, but it did raise the stakes for the group. Pike had to use what she knew against her opponent, in which she succeeded. This enabled them to leave unharmed, with the next vestige, which Pike now wears.
The animation this season has been exceptional. As I have said before, the animation gets better each season. One of the prettiest moments so far was the Calamity animation. It was done in stained glass style and told the sad story of what happened in such a beautiful way.

The season is already halfway done, and I am excited to see where Vox Machina goes next. Even though I am a fan of Campaign 1, the show has changed some things, which has kept the show fresh, especially for those who know the story. It also keeps me wondering what happens next.
