The season 3 finale for The Legend Of Vox Machina is finally here, and it's just as emotional as you'd think it'd be. The finale had a happy ending, or as happy as it could be. The group may have gone their separate ways for now, but if you know who they have to fight next, they’ll be back together sooner than later.

In the first of the three episodes, the group separates. They each have something important they need to do and go their separate ways to do it. Keyleth locates Raishan, and Vex and Vax go after Ripley. Pike goes after Kaylie to bring Scanlan back. After locating Raishan, Keyleth makes it the group's mission to go after the dragon who turned on them. The group reunites after completing their business, and Keyleth takes charge. She is someone the group would discredit and not always listen to her. She is able to prove to them and herself that she is a valuable member of the team and should be trusted. The ending brings back a beloved character, and all the characters get their happy ending, for now.

The show has had some changes from the original campaign, and that’s okay. The changes have all been good, and it’s a great way to keep it fresh for those who were fans of the original campaign. One of the best changes was the resurrection of a certain character in the finale. In D&D, clerics can use the spell revivify to resurrect a dead party member – that does not exist in the show. The group had to get creative with how to bring back the character, and it was one of the best moments of the show. Vex’s confession is extremely heartfelt and emotional. Another big change was the absence of ‘A Bard’s Lament’ arc. Fans know that this is the arc that Scanlan left the group after he thought he wasn’t cared about. The show did a great job of changing this, as Pike was always there to tell Scanlan how important he was to the group. I do hope they can incorporate Sam’s other character, Taryon Darrington, at some point.

I said in a previous review that the idea of love is a central theme of this show, and the last three episodes proved that. When Keyleth was trying to locate Raishan, her anchor to the world was Vax. When Vax has to resurrect a certain character, they share their confession of love. Vex’s love is what brings back a certain character. Found family is an important part of Vox Machina, and love is what keeps them going. It’s what makes them stronger in the end.

Season 3 of The Legend Of Vox Machina has been the best season of the three. The animation is absolutely gorgeous and gets even more stunning with every episode. With the show officially getting renewed for season 4, it will be exciting to see what happens next. The campaign has one more major arc, and we saw a snippet at the end of the finale. The Chroma Conclave was nothing compared to the threat that awaits Vox Machina in the future.

Rating: 10/10
