Is This A New Star Wars Book Listing Under The Working Title ‘Appleseed’?
Minutes ago a new book was released on Ballantine Book's Website. Codenamed 'Appleseed' the book is categorized as a 'Space Opera'. That can only mean one thing, a Star Wars book coming next year in March. Details around the project remain vague for now as there is no cover or proper title on the website at this time. But an educated guess would suggest that this will more than likely be another novel in The High Republic's second phase of print media. Although wave two of High Republic content isn't scheduled to begin until a full month after the release date of March 7, 2023. So for now it really is anyone's guess as to what 'Appleseed' really is.
Fans of the books surrounding Lucasfilm's newest phase of Star Wars development know that a lot of new media was announced during Celebration Anaheim. However, there was no mention of this book. Honestly, we aren't even sure that the book was supposed to be on the website yet with how little information Ballantine gives on the page for 'Appleseed'. What is clear about the book, is that this is nothing that was announced at Anaheim, as it is still operating under a codename and a strange one at that. For now, it seems all fans can do is wait until more details around the mysterious project materialize.
