Xosha Roquemore Joins ‘Captain America: New World Order’ In Key Role

In her biggest role yet, Xosha Roquemore is joining the cast of the next Captain America film, Captain America: New World OrderNew World Order is the first entry in the series since Sam Wilson (played by Anthony Mackie) was bestowed the mantle at the end of Avengers: Endgame and officially embraced throughout the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The cast also includes Harrison Ford, who takes over as Gen. Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross from the late William Hurt. Tim Blake Nelson is returning from The Incredible Hulk as Samuel Sterns, now fully transformed into The Leader, and Shira Haas is appearing as Sabra. Danny Ramirez and Carl Lumbly return from Falcon and The Winter Soldier as presumed next Falcon Joaquin Torres and supersoldier Isaiah Bradley. Details about Roquemore’s character are yet to be revealed.

Roquemore was a series regular as Tamra Webb on the latter five seasons of The Mindy Project after first appearing in three first-season episodes. Having also recurred on Black Monday and The First Wives Club, she also played LeBron James’s mother in Space Jam: A New Legacy. Directed by Julius Onah with Falcon and the Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson writing the script, Captain America: New World Order is set for May 3, 2024, release.
