With 'Star Wars' Celebration 2023 Almost Here, The Next Event Takes A Year Off And Is Scheduled For 2025
This year, Star Wars Celebration is being hosted in Europe, specifically London. It takes place from April 7th to the 10th, bringing together fans to express their love for the franchise and providing the perfect platform to make announcements. Tickets are still available for 2023, but if you can’t go this year that’s perfectly okay! The next cycle for Celebration has been announced, and it’s not for a little while.
A blog post on the Star Wars website discussed the benefits of going to Celebration, and slipped in this interesting quote: “And if you can't join us this year, with the next Star Wars Celebration not taking place until 2025, you'll have plenty of time to work on your cosplay, refine your Wookiee roar, and sharpen your lightsaber skills.” This expanded gap between the two conventions gives the fans and attendees plenty of time to save up for the next go-around.

More details will likely come during or after this year’s event, such as the host city and the actual date itself. It’s an interesting choice to skip a year, as this is a time when projects and their progress are announced, fans and creators come face to face, and publicity shoots through the roof. This could be an acknowledgement of the sheer amount of content they’re putting out, or something special may be planned; 2025 marks the tenth anniversary of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which could be significant.
Overall it’s speculation, and Star Wars Celebration 2023 is still ready to kick off in the meantime. There will be plenty to do and see if you go, and if you don’t the news and content from the convention will still be something to see.
