Why We Could See Black Krrsantan In the 'Obi-Wan' Disney+ Series

With an ever-expanding Star Wars Universe, characters, both old and new, are introduced into the latest installments of all the new Disney+ shows. With the newest upcoming show being Obi-Wan, fans can expect some cameos from some of their favorite characters from the Clone Wars era and possibly from the other Disney+ shows as well. One character that may ring a bell with a lot of fans as of recently is the Wookiee, Black Krrsantan.

Black Krrsantan, within live-action, was introduced during Episode 2 of The Book of Boba Fett. Krssantan has deep roots within the comic run Doctor Aphra, with multiple other run-ins with characters like Boba Fett and Obi-Wan. Black Krrsantan and Obi-Wan have a comic book connection that many hope can be brought into the live-action realm because of how truly awesome the scene is. Hoping to bring these two together on the big screen would be unparalleled for comic book fans, and another win for the Star Wars Universe.

In Star Wars Issue #20, Krssantan and Obi-Wan have their initial duel over the life of Owen Lars. In this comic issue specifically, Obi-Wan was keeping a close eye on Luke, who, unannounced to Owen, had run away with intentions of leaving the planet. Krrsantan and Obi-Wan dealt blows to each other with each seemingly gaining the upper hand throughout different points of the fight. Krrsantan showed off his iconic electric knuckles on Obi-Wan alongside his blaster and net that were seen in Book of Boba Fett.

Obi wins his duel with BK with a swift and decisive offensive strike

When it seemingly looked like Krrsantan was about to win the battle, after sending Owen Lars over the side of the mountain and delivering a massive blow to Obi-Wan, a young Luke comes out of seemingly nowhere to save the day and rescue Owen from falling off the mountain top. Catching Krrsantan off guard, Obi-Wan sees a moment to strike and lunges forward with a lightsaber attack. Almost reversing the position that Owen was in, we see Krrsantan falling off the same mountain, cast down by the Jedi Master. Krrsantan was forced to flee Tatooine to escape the wrath of Jabba the Hutt over the failed mission.

Due to this recent connection in the comics, it is entirely possible these two meetup in Obi-Wan Kenobi. One thing that is important to note though, for comic fans, the live-action Krrsantan may be somewhat different than the comic book arc that we received. We were able to see a different side of Black Krrsantan within the Book of Boba Fett and definitely somewhat of a character change, as he has now "joined the good guys" in a sense. Fighting alongside the Mandalorian, Boba Fett, and Fennec Shand was awesome to see in live-action, but could also foreshadow a possible retcon to the comic battle of Obi and Krrsantan. Regardless, viewers would still love to see more of Krrsantan, whether in Obi-Wan or a Season 2 of Book of Boba Fett.
