Wesley Snipes Talks About Getting Ready For His Marvel Return
As the upcoming Blade movie is in production limbo, fans of the character still have something that they can sink their fangs into. In the recent movie Deadpool & Wolverine, fans got a fun surprise in seeing Wesley Snipes return to the role on the big screen. For those unaware, Snipes played in a trilogy of movies starring the titular Dhampir in the late 90’s and the 2000’s, a trilogy that helped open the door for the existence of the MCU.
“I did not think it was possible…I didn’t think we would be able to pull it off. I didn’t think that Marvel was into it, Disney was into it — also because they had Mahershala Ali cast for the next upcoming version of it.” Snipes said in a recent inverview. “I thought it didn’t make sense to me, but when you get a call from Ryan Reynolds out of the blue after 20 years, you go, ‘Okay, I got to take this call. Let’s see what this is about,’…He told me the idea… They said ‘yes’ and ‘it’s a go.’ ‘If you’re in, we’re in.’ Here we are.”
Deadpool & Wolverine is currently playing in theatres.
