Warner Bros. Draws More Ire With Reveal Of Another Completed Movie Shelved
As Warner Bros. continues to cancel promising movies, yet another solid idea is canceled after being fully completed. The Looney Tunes hybrid live-action/animated movie Coyote Vs. Acme was canceled after being greenlit, scripted, filmed, edited, and doing well with test audiences, scoring 14 points above the family norm.
According to sources, Warner Brothers will not be releasing the film because the cost to release the film theatrically was not worth it, and they were unwilling to sell it to a competitor, such as Amazon.

“With the re-launch of Warner Bros. Pictures Animation in June, the studio has shifted its global strategy to focus on theatrical releases,” said a spokesperson who represents Warner Brothers. “With this new direction, we have made the difficult decision not to move forward with Coyote vs. Acme. We have tremendous respect for the filmmakers, casts, and crew, and are grateful for their contributions to the film.”
The movie was originally to be launched on July 21, 2023, and the company instead chose to launch Barbie, which ended up being the highest-grossing movie in the studio’s history, bringing in a global total of $1.4 billion.
