Ubisoft Releases The First Trailer For 'Assassin's Creed Mirage'
During the Ubisoft Forward event, three new installments of Assassin's Creed were announced. Two of the games are under codenames currently, and one is supposedly set in feudal Japan. The next installment however is titled Assassin's Creed: Mirage and will follow Basim, who we first saw in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, and his journey to becoming an assassin. The game will go back to its roots and focus on stealth. The first trailer was released today, and the game looks awesome.
The trailer starts with a voiceover asking Basim if he's "ready to give up everything he knows and walk in the shadows". We get to see a young Basim, being chased through the streets of Baghdad. We then see him equip the classic hidden blade, and train to be the master assassin we are familiar with. In his assassin robes, we see him fighting with high-level officials. It also appears we will have a bird of some sort as an eagle eye view, similar to previous installments. From the trailer, we are going to learn how he became part of the "hidden ones". The hidden ones were the group Basim and Haytham were a part of in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla so it will be interesting to see how that group came to be.
As a huge Assassin's Creed fan, I am so excited for this next installment. While the last few games have been fun, I'm glad this one will return to its roots. Basim was a great character in Valhalla, I cannot wait to learn more about him, especially because we know very little of his origin and story.
Assassin's Creed Mirage will release sometime in 2023, and is available now for preorder.
