Top 6 Things We Want To See Happen In 'The Mandalorian' Season 3
With Book of Boba Fett, we rather unexpectedly got a glimpse into what the Mandalorian, Din Djarin, has been up to since he handed off care and training of Grogu to Luke Skywalker at the end of Season 2 of The Mandalorian. To do a quick recap, Din was excommunicated from his Covert due to having removed his helmet twice during the events of Season 2, which he was ultimately forced to admit. He got a new ship, a restored Naboo N-1 Starfighter, to replace his destroyed Razorcrest. And, most importantly, Grogu decided against continuing his Jedi training with Luke and took the beskar chainmail armor Din had left for him and returned to Din on Tatooine. On Tatooine, Grogu helped save the day by putting a Rancor to sleep, before flying off into space again with Din. With these things established, here are some things we want to see happen in Mandalorian Season 3.
1. Mandalore:
In Episode 5 of Book of Boba Fett, during a recounting of the destruction of Mandalore, previously referred to as "The Night of A Thousand Tears", we get our first glimpse of the actual event and the devastation wrought upon the planet by the Empire. As mentioned above, Din was excommunicated by his Mandalorian covert for previously removing his helmet. Din was told that he must visit a special place on Mandalore in order to restore his status as a Mandalorian with the Covert. We would certainly be very interested to see Mandalore again, especially after the aforementioned cataclysm. Although the devastation witnessed in the episode seems profound, none of the characters have spoken of it as being unsafe to visit. Will Din or somebody else discover a way to start the process of reclaiming the planet for Mandalorians?

2. Moff Gideon:
At the end of Season 2 of The Mandalorian, Din defeated the former Imperial Moff and claimed the Darksaber. In Episode 5 of Book of Boba Fett, Din mentions that Gideon is currently in the custody of a New Republic tribunal. Is it possible that he may try to go see Gideon for information about Mandalore, or possibly attempt to learn more about what his plans were for Grogu? Could we even possibly see a "team-up" between Din and Gideon for some purpose related to Grogu and/or Mandalore? Gideon was presented as a very interesting and dynamic character, just the kind that Din may be able to seek some common cause with, or one that might find a way to exploit Din and Grogu to his own ends.
3. Bo-Katan:
We last saw Bo-Katan and her team of Mandalorians at the end of Season 2, helping Din rescue Grogu, but her whereabouts and activities are currently unknown. If Din is going to try to travel to Mandalore, he might require her assistance. Also, with Din claiming the Darksaber at the end of Season 2, it seemed to leave the two of them with some unfinished business, and possibly some competition, over who ultimately will wield the Darksaber and rule Mandalore. Additionally, it would be fascinating to learn how she lost the Darksaber post-Star Wars Rebels and how well that story fits in with what the Armorer told Din about the fall of Mandalore and how her (mis-)rule may have contributed to it.
4. Greef Karga:
One of Din's major sources of bounty hunting jobs, as well as an ally, during the first two seasons of The Mandalorian, it would be nice to see what is happening with Greef Karga, especially now that the Empire has been fully driven off the planet. Actor Carl Weathers, who plays Karga, is confirmed to be directing an episode of Season 3, so his appearance as Karga seems almost guaranteed. Of course, returning to Navarro will likely have to involve some kind of explanation for Cara Dune's in-universe absence, a minor obstacle to overcome.
5. Grogu's (and Yoda's) Species:
This may be a longer term wish and is dependent on the actual intentions of the writers in terms of what Grogu's ultimate fate is, but now that Grogu has decided not to train with Luke, what are the ultimate plans for Grogu? For now, he appears to have rejoined Din for more adventures, however, will Din just continue traveling with Grogu indefinitely? Or will Din eventually feel the need to return Grogu to his own kind, in this case being his own species, since he does not seem interested in following the Jedi path, not to mention the fact that Grogu will ultimately live considerably longer than Din, assuming that nothing unexpected and terrible happens to him.
6. The Darksaber:
It was shown during Book of Boba Fett that Din hasn't quite mastered the use of the Darksaber and is struggling with using it. Learning how to wield it effectively seems like it will be part of his story arc. Might he turn to a Jedi like Luke or Ashoka to learn how to wield it properly? Or a previous owner, such as Bo-Katan?
