Top 5 Spinoffs That Could Come Out Of DC's Black Adam

DC

DC Films stirs up mixed feelings no matter what corner of social media you dive into. Fans either love or hate the films that have been released so far. There is no middle ground. Black Adam is the latest big announcement from Warner Bros./DC Films. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who has been cast in the lead role, continues to tease that this movie will change the hierarchy of the DC Universe for good. Let's take a look at what movies could potentially spin off from Black Adam that would bolster his claims.

5. Cyclone

She has the power to manipulate wind. Her powers only manifest after she is a full blown adult. A Cyclone solo film could offer a deep dive into depression as she suffers from it, due to her incessant need to always be right and her quick-quips type attitude. Quintessa Swindell has been cast in the role for Black Adam but it's doubtful the film will spend too much time on her origin story. It would be nice to see her shine in her own feature film.

4. Golden Age Flash (Jay Garrick)

Jay is the Flash that has probably received the least amount of love from DC but Black Adam could change all of that. Barry Allen has become popularized thanks to the television series and Zack Snyder's Justice League with Wally West currently being the Flash at the forefront of the comics. Jay is the original Flash and often the most forgotten, so it would be cool to add him into the DCEU Canon either by way of his own solo film or by appearing in a Justice Society movie.

3. Doctor Fate

One of the most powerful members of the DC Universe, Pierce Brosnan has been cast in the role of Kent Nelson Aka Doctor Fate. Its doubtful that the DC Execs would cast such a high profile actor for this role to simply be a one and done. It's not certain that the plan is to head into the JSA right away after Black Adam and if DC learned anything from the Joss Whedon situation, it's that fans don't want rushed, mash-up movies. They want to get to know their heroes first. Brosnan is very talented and is tailor-made for this character. Given the complexities his powers have, it's doubtful they can explore the entirety of this character in a movie that is primarily focused on Black Adam.

2. Atom Smasher

He's the most intriguing character in the movie to me, aside from Black Adam, so I have high expectations he will return in a spinoff movie. Maybe not his own movie, but a supporting role in another solo movie that leads up to a JSA movie. If they are going the route of introducing moviegoers to the Golden Age then he has the most intrigue when it comes to a solo adventure, I just hope he doesn't get lost among the shuffle.

1.Hawkman

Aldis Hodge has the physicality and the range to lead a solo series about Hawkman and Hawkgirl. So much could be done with their origin story about how they always find each other in life. Hodge has a plethora of dramatic roles in his back pocket and given that talent it's all but assured if Black Adam is a huge box office success that he will get his own series. Now, making that a successful series in itself would depend a lot on who gets cast as Hawkgirl and who writes the script. That person is out there and given DCs recent string of castings and announcements I sure do hope they announce this one sooner rather than later.

DC seems to finally be tapping into their vast variety of characters, given the current slate of films in production and coming to HBO Max. Black Adam is just one of many projects with spinoff potential. It's exciting times in 2022 for DC fans across the world.
