Todd Phillips Shares Image Showing ‘Joker’ 2 Is Officially On The Way
Joker was released in 2019 and made over a billion dollars at the global box office. It is only one of two DC projects to achieve that impressive number since Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. Talks about a sequel have been taking place ever since, and it seems like today is the day those talks can be confirmed. Todd Philips has taken to Instagram to share a photo of the script's title page. The film is titled Joker: Folie a Deux.
Along with the title page, Philips shared an image of star Joaquin Phoenix reading what will become the follow-up to the acclaimed 2019 film. For those unfamiliar with the term Folie a Deux, it means a shared psychosis or delusional state by two individuals. The sequel is once again written by Philips and co-writer Scott Silver. News of this announcement is spreading like crazy on social media, and while there are no details on the overall plot, we know the central storyline will, in fact, center on two individuals, and Arthur Fleck will be returning. Could this be teasing another version of Harley Quinn? Or the idea that Arthur paves the way for the person who truly becomes the villain known as The Joker? Only time will tell what havoc Arthur will bring to the streets of Gotham.
