This Key 'Star Wars' Location Reported To Be Featured In 'The Mandalorian' Season 3
New reports hint that a key location previously seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars may be featured in the upcoming Mandalorian Season 3. It shouldn’t take too long to guess what planet we’re referring to, it is the homeworld of the Mandalorian people; Mandalore. After a few seasons worth of hints, we may finally be giving the place a visit in live action. This of course, raises the question of just what we will be doing there, but it’s easy to speculate. After all, the show itself has given us plenty of plot threads to go off of.
Specifically, the plot threads surrounding the Darksaber, and Din Djarin’s troubles with his fellow Mandalorians. In Season 2, we were reintroduced to Bo-Katan Kryze and her Nite Owls, who were interested in retaking Mandalore from what was left of the Empire. Mando, for his part, wanted nothing to do with it, viewing the planet as cursed. Then, in the finale, Mando acquired the Darksaber, the weapon of Mand’alore, the ruler of the Mandalorians, setting up a possible conflict with the Nite Owls. But that’s not all that’s looming on the horizon for the Mandalorian and Mandalore, as we’ll soon see.

During the events of The Book of Boba Fett, Din Djarin was reunited with Grogu, but banished from his tribe. This was a result of removing his helmet, breaking a taboo. This has appeared to make a journey to Mandalore all the more personal, as Mando now has atonement on his agenda, from a certain point of view anyways. This will likely serve as a major story arc going into the next season, though it might serve as a backdrop to a conflict with the Nite Owls, at least initially. What happens next is anyone’s guess.
A more important question is, “Where on Mandalore are we going?” The answer is the “living waters” beneath the mines. These waters, presumably an underground lake or river of some kind, were first mentioned by the Armorer in The Book of Boba Fett Chapter 5. This will likely be the setting of at least one episode, as Din Djarin and a few of his allies try to seek atonement. That’s right, allies; there are more reports stating the Armorer and Paz Vizsla will be accompanying him on his journey through Mandalore. They will likely serve as advocates or witnesses, it is Mando who’s in trouble, not the other two.
How long will we be staying on Mandalore? That depends on how much emphasis they want to put on Mando's redemptive journey. It likely won’t take too much time, just an episode or two, but you never know. We’ll have to wait and see if and when we go to Mandalore, and how much time we’ll be spending there. Patience is a virtue among lots of people, not just the Jedi, so it would be wise to start practicing it. It can save us all a lot of frustration in the process.
We don’t know when Season 3 of The Mandalorian will be coming out, but we do know that filming is underway. We can expect a release in either this year, or the next, with plenty of Star Wars content to keep us satisfied along the way. Hungry for more Star Wars content?
