The Second Episode Of 'She-Hulk: Attorney At Law' Teases The Introduction Of An Iconic Character To The MCU
The latest She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode could have probably given the public a clue of what is coming to the MCU. Even though it was a brief moment during the show, one scene hinted at the existence of Wolverine on Earth-616. This also opens the possibility of seeing more mutants (besides the already confirmed Ms. Marvel) in other shows and movies. This would add even more comic-book content to Disney’s already huge catalog.
While at home looking for another job, Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk is reading an article on employment options called “10 offbeat jobs for a fresh start”. The one that pops out is “Swiss Village Mascot”, but this doesn’t matter at all. What dragged the attention of many viewers was an article on the right side of the screen named “Man fights with metal claws in bar brawl”. This of course is an easter egg for Wolverine, known for his retractable adamantium claws and short-tempered attitude (see image below).
This also calls back to a scene from X-Men: First Class (2011) with Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr a.k.a Magneto (Michael Fassbender). The two were trying to recruit mutants for their recently-formed group and met Logan in a bar. The automatic response to their invitation was “go f*** yourself”. One conclusion that can be taken from this event is that Wolverine’s personality hasn’t changed in over 70 years, and it may have led to the headline seen in She-Hulk.
But anyway, the main topic at hand. This Wolverine easter egg, and the twist that happened in the Ms. Marvel finale (she’s a mutant after all), opens the possibility for a more diverse MCU. This could give the public some X-Men action in the MCU’s foreseeable future, possibly joining the current Avengers group throughout phases 5 and 6. Although this is all speculation, all the necessary steps are being made toward this event.
