'The Owl House' Voice Actress Tati Gabrielle In Final Talks To Star As Jade In The 'Mortal Kombat' Sequel
Have you ever watched a movie or TV show and thought, "Hey, that voice sounds familiar! I wonder where I've heard them before?" For fans of Disney's The Owl House, they may find themselves asking the same question if they decide to check out the new Mortal Kombat film sequel, set to release later this year.
Simon McQuiod, director of the previous film, looks to continue the story of assorted fighters looking to defend the world from a dimension known as the Outworld. Much like the game the movie is inspired by, it looks to add in a new cast of characters, as well as some of the old ones from the previous movie. Johnny Cage, who was previously absent, looks to make a debut on the big screen as well.

Enthusiasts of the fighting game will need no introduction to the assassin Jade, who has been a part of the Mortal Kombat franchise ever since Mortal Kombat II. In the upcoming film, actress Tati Gabrielle is set to play the assassin, who acts as a bodyguard to the character Princess Kitana.
Gabrielle is known for her work as the plant witch Willow from The Owl House, though she also plays major roles in Netflix's You and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Not being a stranger to video game properties, Gabrielle also starred in Sony's 2022 Uncharted film, which featured Mark Wahlberg and Tom Holland.
While further details about the movie's release haven’t been made public as of yet, the film will most likely be released in theaters and on Max sometime in 2023.
