'The Last of Us' On HBO Drops Image Of Ashley Johnson As Ellie's Mom
As fans continue to call HBO’s The Last of Us one of the best examples of video game adaption in another medium, their Twitter page has finally released a picture of Ashley Johnson as Anna, the mother of series co-protagonist Ellie. She will be appearing in the Season 1 finale. Interestingly enough, Ashley Johnson was the voice of Ellie in the original video game The Last of Us, as well as its sequel, The Last of Us Part II. She has won a video game BAFTA for Best Performer for her portrayal of the character.
The 39-year-old Ashley Johnson has an impressively long list of roles and has been active since 1990. In addition to lending her voice to Ellie, she is known for her role in Growing Pains (Chrissy Seaver), Recess (Gretchen Grundler), Ben 10 (Gwen Tennyson), and Teen Titans (Terra). Her other works also include The Avengers, Jumanji: The Animated Series, ER, Much Ado About Nothing, Blindspot, Wings, Touched By An Angel, King of The Hill, Tales of the Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles, Infinity Train, Family Guy, and Marvel Heroes. Johnson has been active with the popular Dungeon and Dragons web series Critical Role, and reprised her role as Pike Trickfoot in Amazon Prime’s The Legend of Vox Machina.
The Last of Us, starring Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, is currently streaming on HBO, with the Season 1 finale releasing this Sunday.
