The Golden Globes Nominations Are Out

The 2025 Golden Globes are out, with some films, television series, and even some actors snatching multiple nominations. The top winners in film nominations include Netflix’s Emilia Perez, starring Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana, which garnered ten nominations. FX/Hulu’s The Bear, starring Jeremy Allen White, was the highest-nominated television series, with five nominations. White has also recently been announced as a cast member of the upcoming Star Wars film, The Mandalorian and Grogu, in production.

Other top winners include The Brutalist, nominated in seven categories, with actors Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, and Adrian Brody taking individual nominations. The next highest contender is Conclave, with actors Ralph Fiennes and Isabella Rosellini also nominated for individual awards.  Other films nominated for four or more awards include Wicked, Anora, Challengers, A Real Pain, and a late entry, The Substance, featuring Demi Moore and actor/director, Margaret Qualley.

Actors nominated for multiple awards include Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice, A Different Man), Kate Winslet (Lee, The Regime), Selena Gomez (Emilia Perez, Only Murders in the Building), and Audiard (Emilia Perez), nominated for directing, screenwriting, and contributions to the original song for the film, “El Mal.”

Further down the list, for television series, Only Murders in the Building and Shogun earned four nominations each. Nobody Wants This, Baby Reindeer, Disclaimer, and Monsters: The Lyle and Eric Menendez Story also earned multiple nominations. The second season of Netflix’s Squid Game surprised the film and television industry by being nominated for best series despite not streaming until this month.

The nominees for the newly created categories were also announced. Jamie Foxx, Nikki Glaser, Seth Meyers, Adam Sandler, Ali Wong, and Ramy Youssef were all nominated for achievement in stand-up comedy. Achievement at the global box office nominees include Wicked, The Wild Robot, Alien: Romulus, Deadpool & Wolverine, Gladiator II, Twisters, Inside Out 2, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
