'The Flash' Scenes Set To Film In Scotland Bringing Batman Back To Glasgow

Welcome back, Batman fans! Today, we have a big update regarding filming of The Flash and some good news for my fellow Scottish readers.

Back in 2020, filming of The Batman starring Robert Pattinson filmed scenes in the city of Glasgow. The Necropolis (cemetery) located next to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary was used for filming scenes which saw a stunt double as Batman travel around the Necropolis on one of his motorbikes. The area was used due to it's very gothic feel, and now it looks like Glasgow is set to become Gotham City once more.

The Glasgow Live page has reported that filming of The Flash is currently being done in London, after which it will move north and film scenes in Glasgow and Edinburgh, the country's capital city, according to sources who told the Sunday Mail. The film is thought to be based on the 2011 Flashpoint comic storyline in which Barry Allen travels back in time to prevent his mother's death, causing an alternate DC timeline. The film is set to bring back both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck's versions of Batman.

Thanks to the city's architecture, Glasgow has been used as a filming ground for a number of other big films, including Cloud Atlas, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Fast & Furious 6, and World War Z. As you walk through the City Centre, you can see the massive amount of gothic inspired buildings, making it a prime location for a Batman flick, especially for emulating the same feel from Burton's Batman and Batman Returns.

Also, with it being my hometown, you can bet I will be out checking the sets as much as I can, and I may even be able to bring some exclusive pics. As always, we will keep you updated with more information as it becomes available. Until next time!
