The 'Fantastic Four' Reboot Will Begin Shooting In Early 2024
It’s time for a familiar story to be told again with new faces and a new director. The latest director to begin their vision of the Fantastic Four is Matt Shakman, formerly the director of the successful television show WandaVision. Recently, Shakman opened up about his decision to direct Marvel’s Fantastic Four reboot as opposed to a Star Trek reboot. According to Shakman,

But movies have different journeys and momentums and schedules are a little bit mercurial, and so when the ‘Fantastic Four’ opportunity came up, it was just too hard to pass up and to go back home to Marvel…”

Taking part in recreating a story first started by the iconic duo Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1961, sees great expectations in depicting what is regarded as “Marvel’s First Family”. First translated into film in 2005 Fantastic Four and in 2007 with its sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, the cast depiction was near perfect. Meanwhile, the following Fantastic Four film was panned by audiences, critics, and fans.
With the Fantastic Four reboot scheduled to release on Valentine’s Day of 2025, finer details regarding the film are few. Even the notion of John Krasinski reprising his role of Reed Richards as he did in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness remains unconfirmed. This includes the cast of its leading stars and a plot synopsis. The suspense and mystery are palpable. There will be much to look forward to and speculate about in the upcoming years.
