The CEO Of Saber Interactive Has Reassured Fans That The 'Knights Of The Old Republic' Remake Is Happening
In a rare piece of good news for the videogame industry and fans of the original Knights of the Old Republic game, the CEO of Saber Interactive has announced that the remake of Knights of the Old Republic remake, thought to be dead (or at least on life support) is, much to the contrary, still alive and kicking. However, when the game will be released remains elsewhere. Elusive. The project, which was announced in 2021 at the PlayStation Showcase after already spending three years in development at Aspyr, was initially paused indefinitely due to a lack of progress.
During the last three years, game development has changed hands several times and has been stopped and restarted several times. The game may still not see the light of day for a while longer as implied by the CEO of Embracer, Lars Wingefors, during an investor call following the dissolution of their business partnership with Saber. The CEO of Saber Interactive, which currently owns the game's rights, Matthew Karch, insists the game is very much still in active development, although offered few concrete details.
"It's clear and it's obvious that we're working on this," he said. "It's been in the press numerous times. What I will say is that the game is alive and well, and we're dedicated to making sure we exceed consumer expectations."
