'The Bad Guys' Are Ready For More Mischief In August 2025

In case you missed it, Aaron Blabey’s hit children’s graphic novel series, The Bad Guys, blasted to life on the big screen a couple of years ago. The books are set in a world where humans and anthropomorphic animals coexist, but some animals, like most of the main characters, are criminals. The film adaptation from Universal Pictures and Dreamworks Animation starred the talents of Awkwafina, Richard Ayoade, Marc Maron, Anthony Ramos, Craig Robinson, and Sam Rockwell among its cast. Rockwell voices Mr. Wolf, the leader of this group of notorious criminals who are trying to shake their way back into normal lives and bring their best to society. The Bad Guys was #1 on its opening weekend back in 2022, grossing nearly $251 million worldwide.
Dreamworks Animation’s The Bad Guys 2 will be coming on August 1, 2025. In the sequel, the newly-reformed Good Guys get forced back into their life of crime by an “all-female squad of criminals.” The new movie will see Damon Ross producing and Pierre Perifel returning to direct alongside JP Sans, who was the head of character animation for the first film.
