As all Star Wars fans know, the series was created by George Lucas releasing the film Star Wars (now known as Episode IV: A New Hope in 1977)However, almost 50 years later, and over a decade after he sold the property to Disney, some of George’s ideas are still being added to the franchise.

One of his final ideas before selling the franchise was for a squad of mutated clones, each with a unique ability. One of George’s final hires, Dave Filoni, brought the idea to the small screen in 2020 in the final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The first two seasons of the show  The Bad Batch continued the adventures of the titular squad.

Dee Bradley Baker, who voices squad members Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Echo, and Crosshairas well as many of the other clones such as Captain Rex recently spoke of the connect. "That actually tracks back to the original idea that George Lucas came up with because this is sort of the end of George Lucas' legacy is The Bad Batch - he came up with that idea, and it was part of the original Clone Wars series that he made with Dave Filoni... The dynamic that he and the writers came up with was very clear... so that they feel so different, that it was actually easy for me - easier for me - than keeping the clones distinct because they all feel like such different people to me."

The third and final season of The Bad Batch will premiere on Disney+ on February 21st with three episodes, with the series finale coming on May 1st, and new episodes released every Thursday in between. The first two seasons are currently available on Disney+.
