….if you live in Japan that is! The anime and manga juggernaut One Piece is making its debut on the ice rink. While this is not the first time an anime or manga property has been made into an ice skating show, it is the first time the Straw Hat Crew will be involved in such a production! The show was announced on the official One Piece Twitter on March 5th:

One Piece on Ice is set to premiere in Japan in the Summer of this year. There is no word on whether or not there will be a North American version as well. This is not the only live-action One Piece property in development, however, as Netflix is still hard at work on their live-action version of the anime and manga classic, with creator Eiichiro Oda on board. The manga is in its final arc, while the anime is still in the War for Wano arc. However, for those wanting to watch the English dub of One Piece on television, it is currently airing on Adult Swim’s Toonami block every Saturday night at 1:00 and 1:30am, though Toonami is still in the Punk Hazard arc. Plenty of jumping-off points for those wanting to dive into the deep blue seas of this pirate anime before seeing it on ice!
