In a recent YouTube video, Adam Savage (best known for Mythbusters) showcased the first live-action clone trooper armor. The recent Disney Plus shows Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor were the first to depict clones in live action. The costumes were created by the team at FBFX, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of special effects costumes for the film and entertainment industry.

In the video, Adam Savage learns from FBFX workshop fabricator Alea Holland. Holland is an Imperial stormtrooper cosplayer herself, and talks about how FBFX built the armor using Lucasfilm digital reference, as well as the challenges of making it a practical costume.

Holland mentions that when you look at the clone troopers from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, many of them are quite thin, which creates difficulty in the process of transitioning to real life actors.

The clone trooper shown in the video was one of the costumes used on the recent Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi.
