Jared Padalecki has been a staple of the CW network for over 20 years. He was first in Gilmore Girls as one of Rory’s love interests and then went on to play Sam Winchester for fifteen years in Supernatural. Most recently, he played the role of Cordell Walker in Walker. Walker was canceled after four seasons, and in a new interview, Jared Padalecki reflects on his time at the CW and has some things to say about the changes happening to the network.

Padalecki has been the one to announce show cancellations before, and Walker was no different. When the news came out, he was asked to do the same for the Walker cast. He said that the CW told him the reason for the cancellation, was because they decided to go in a different direction with the channel. He says how different the CW was last year, compared to in the past under previous CEO Mark Pedowitz. He also gives his thoughts on how the network isn’t going to be a TV network and instead will be "here’s something fun for an hour that you'll never watch again, but hopefully, you watch it. And it’s cheap!"

After the news, Padalecki went straight to Europe for work and a pre-planned vacation. His family met him there a bit later. He felt conflicted because he wanted to grieve, but was about 8 to 10 hours ahead and couldn't make calls to everyone he wanted to. He would wake up to texts but wasn't able to connect in person like he wanted to. However, the vacation was great because it gave him a good distraction to focus on.

He hasn't taken a lot of time to think of what comes next, but mentions how he loves the production side of things, “I love the production aspect and the problem-solving side that comes with it. So there are a few things my wife and I are in the process of developing that I would love to produce and act in”. Before he jumps into anything, he wants to fully grieve the loss of Walker and spend time with his family. He said how he and Eric Kripke, the creator of Supernatural, may reunite soon, and there’s a very good chance that Jared will be in the final season of The Boys
