'Superman & Lois' Has Found Its Lex Luthor In Actor Michael Cudlitz

DC

With Superman & Lois now established as its own Earth, despite numerous doppelgangers, the show was free to introduce its own Lex Luthor. And that’s exactly what happened on Tuesday when it was announced The Walking Dead alum Michael Cudlitz would be taking on the role in the upcoming third season.

The casting call went out in mid-December, with some fans frustrated that it wouldn’t be Jon Cryer again. The character description starts with your usual Lex Luthor shpiel, as the “visionary billionaire behind LexCorp”, before diving deeper, that the criminal underworld knows him better as “a brutal psychopath who terrorizes anyone he crosses paths with”. This Lex is situated as having been out of the public eye for years, ready to enact revenge on archenemy Superman (played by Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois (played by Bitsie Tulloch) for a personal injustice, the latter probably having done the reporter to bring him down.

Sam Lane, Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang-Cushing, Wolé Parks and Tayler Buck as John Henry Irons and Natalie Lane Irons, Inde Navarrette as Lana’s daughter Sarah Cushing, Erik Valdez as Kyle Cushing and Sofia Hasmik as Chrissy Beppo. Superman & Lois season 3 premieres Tuesday, March 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
