‘Star Wars’ Reveals New Trailer for ‘The Bad Batch’ Season 2
Back in September, at the D23 Expo, Star Wars: The Bad Batch had its second season premiere date confirmed to be January 4, 2023. Now that date is 4 weeks away, it was time to release a new trailer for that second season. That’s exactly what the brand did on Wednesday, surprisingly on Disney+ first before YouTube.
The trailer opens with the squad being pursued by giant crabs as carried from the teaser trailer, escaping thanks to Omega and her energy bow. They’re also seen convening with a Wanda Sykes-voiced character named Phee Genoa, who knows them as the rogue clones at large. They’re told elsewhere that pulling off a particular heist will earn them a future. Crosshair tells Cody that the growing number of clones questioning the Empire are traitors. Omega wallows over that the team gave up everything for them and is assured they’d do it again for anyone who needs their help.
Appearances by Emperor Palpatine and Bail Organa are also teased here as the Empire grows stronger in its early days, and there’s plenty of gunfire to come this season. The same sequence where Gungi takes up a green lightsaber is also seen. A new poster has also been released.
The Bad Batch’s second season was originally announced shortly before the first season finale in August 2021 and initially scheduled for a Fall 2022 release, as announced at Celebration in May before the delays came about. The voice cast includes Dee Bradley Baker as every clone trooper, including the main characters of Clone Force 99, as well as Captain Rex and Commander Cody, while Michelle Ang voices Omega. Rhea Perlman’s Cid will also be back, introducing them to Phee.
