'Star Wars: Andor' Season 2 Release Window Is Teased By Tony Gilroy
It has been almost exactly three months since the Season 1 finale of Andor, which by most indicators had a successful run, and fans are eagerly waiting for Season 2. If they were hoping for something this year or early next year, however, they will have to make do with The Mandalorian and Ahsoka to hold them over.
Showrunner Tony Gilroy recently went on record discussing the release window for Andor Season 2 on StruggleNation’s YouTube show. It seems the most likely release will be in late summer or early fall, 2024:
“…we’re on the same schedule that we were before…So, we started shooting in November,…we shoot all the way through August and then it takes a year for us to finish it.”

It should be no surprise to readers that it will time, just outside of what Gilroy said, to work on something in post-production. He did mention if they wanted it out sooner, they’d have to throw more money at it in the summer to do so. It is encouraging to see that the production team could get it done sooner. However, with the heavy load that the visual and sound effects departments already have to tackle, more money to do some crunch work is unlikely, especially with Disney’s recent earnings report.
With the success of Andor Season 1, Gilroy is going to want to spend all the time necessary on Season 2 to make sure its odd timeline structure is done to the best it can be done.
Fans can look for Andor Season 2 in the second half of 2024.
