Marvel Studios recently announced that they are bringing back a favorite character to reprise her role in multiple projects. Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness, introduced in Marvel’s Disney+ show WandaVision will be coming back in a new spin-off series starring Agatha Harkness herself. Not only is Agatha Harkness getting her own Disney+ series, Marvel Studios also announced that she would be appearing in other future projects.

Deadline announced that Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness spin-off is a part of a larger deal that she and Marvel Studios have signed. Not only is the deal for the Disney+ spin-off, it is also for movies on the big screen as well. This means that fans might see Agatha Harkness in some of the Marvel feature films. Deadline did not say what specific Marvel films or shows Kathryn Hahn will be a part of other than the signature spin-off Disney+ show. Of course that is understandable since Marvel likes to keep things hush hush.

Kathryn Hahn debuted the on-screen character of Agatha Harkness in WandaVision, which was released early 2021. In the series’ seventh episode “Breaking the Fourth Wall,” it was revealed that Agnes, Wanda and Vision’s nosy neighbor, was actually the villain Agatha Harkness all along. The character of Agatha Harkness was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in the 1970s, first appearing in the Fantastic Four #94. Agatha Harkness is a skilled witch who survived the Salem Witch trials, lived for longer than she should have, and went on to mentor Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch. This is all part of the Marvel Comics canon. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) did not have Wanda adopt the name Scarlet Witch until WandaVision, even though all the fans have already been calling her that. The Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff (played by Elizabeth Olsen) will return in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which releases on March 25, 2022.

Currently, Marvel Studios has multiple major films slated for release over at least the next five years. Some are in the final post-production stages, while some have yet to be written. The announced titles include Spiderman: No Way Home, Eternals, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, The Marvels, Fantastic Four, Blade, a sequel to Captain America: Civil War, and a sequel to Fox’s Deadpool 2 (since Deadpool is now going to officially be a part of the MCU). There are also several other projects that Marvel is reportedly working on that do not have titles or premises that we know of yet. Of these movies, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness has been announced to spin off of WandaVision (and potentially Loki). Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch is slated to appear in the movie, this could conceivably be one of the projects that Kathryn Hahn has signed on to reprise her role as Agatha Harkness.

The long list of Disney+’s line up of upcoming Marvel series and spin-offs include Hawkeye, Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, Ironheart, Secret Invasion, Armor Wars, and an untitled Black Panther spin-off focusing on the nation of Wakanda. Of course, the Agatha Harkness spin-off has now joined the ranks of announced shows, as well as an untitled Hawkeye spin-off featuring the character Echo, and an untitled Halloween special. There will also be at least a second season (if not more) of Loki and What-If…?.

Marvel Studios has quite the line-up prepared for the coming years, and Kathryn Hahn could be in any of them. Hopefully, Marvel will not keep fans waiting too long for news about which projects we might see Agatha Harkness in next.
