'Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse' Obtains A Pair Of Directors
Face front, true believers, because we’re returning to the Spider-Verse with this latest news. It has been reported that Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson have been selected as directors for the third installment of Sony Pictures Animation’s series of Spider-Man animated movies. Both have been with the series since the beginning, Persichetti had served as one of the the three directors for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, while Thompson was a production designer for the first film and served as one of the directors on Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Given their history with the series, one hopes that their contributions remain just as good as ever.
The Spider-Verse series has largely been spearheaded by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller under the Sony Pictures banner. An adaptation of the iconic Spider-Man mythos, the series features multiple versions of the web-slinger from the multiverse, including Peter Parker, viewpoint character Miles Morales, a version of Gwen Stacey, and many more. The series has been a runaway success for Sony, who have capitalized on their success better than their mostly unsuccessful Spider-Man Universe series. No one knows what’s coming next, but you can always count on your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man to entertain new fans in whatever form.
