Simon Pegg Signs On To Play Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black In 'Hogwarts Legacy'
British actor Simon Pegg (Mission: Impossible; Star Trek) has joined the Wizarding World after having been announced as the voice of Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black in the upcoming video game, Hogwarts Legacy. Phineas Nigellus Black is the ancestor to Sirius Black, his great-great-grandfather to be precise. According to Pegg, his character is the least popular Headmaster in the history of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
While Phineas Nigellus Black is directly related to Sirius, their personalities are very different. An official character description mentions that Headmaster Black is “hated by the students” at Hogwarts that also disdains his students. According to Simon Pegg, Phineas is “not noble, he's not brave, he's just a self-interested fool,” far from the qualities Sirius has shown in the Harry Potter franchise.
