The Master of the Universe franchise is one of Mattel's most iconic IPs. Starting with The Adventures of He-Man, it later expanded into a new spin-off series featuring his long-lost sister, Adora, who becomes the warrior heroine She-Ra. The franchise gained renewed attention with a 2018 reboot show run by ND Stevenson on Netflix, produced by DreamWorks. Now, it's set to enter the world of live-action with Amazon, and some exciting news has just come to the forefront.

According to Variety, the show has found its showrunner in Heidi Schreck. Schreck, best known for her acclaimed play What the Constitution Means to Me and her contributions to series like Billions, is set to bring a fresh perspective to the beloved franchise.

This new series will mark the first time She-Ra enters the realm of live-action, although its sibling series, He-Man, had a film in the 1980s. The story will focus on Adora, an orphan raised by the Evil Horde, who discovers that her life is a lie. She finds a magical sword that transforms her into the legendary She-Ra.

There is no news yet on the series' release date, but fans are hopeful it will be announced soon, as production is set to begin soon.
