Rick Famuyiwa Has Confirmed 'The Mandalorian' Title Has Moved Beyond The Scope Of Din Djarin
The latest season of The Mandalorian has not only established Bo-Katan Kryze as a consistently recurring character, but has also brought a new focus on the Mandalorians as a people. This has led some fans to question what the show itself is now truly about, and if it has expanded past Din and Grogu. In an interview with IGN, the show’s executive producer Rick Famuyiwa opened up about the current state of the show and what its center is. Fair warning, this discusses the events of Season 3 Episode 6 of The Mandalorian, meaning there are possible spoilers ahead!
Things have expanded and evolved quite a bit since Din’s original mission, and “on the journey of the show” they’re at a point of asking “what does that title [The Mandalorian] mean?” He followed this question with references specifically to episode 6 of this season, stating, “I think now with Bo possessing the Darksaber, I know that there was a lot of expectations that might have shifted both in terms of what it meant for Din Djarin, but also for Bo and what does it mean?”

Famuyiwa ended his comments with a thought-provoking statement/question combo: "Who is the Mandalorian at this point? And so I think it could be anyone. And I think that's what they're trying to define in many ways, is what does that mean to be Mandalorian?"
Season 3 of The Mandalorian has eight episodes in total, the final two airing on April 12th and 19th respectively. The season has focused on the Mandalorians as a people and their efforts to rebuild, to come out of the dark and into the light once again. It has also shown some inner workings of the New Republic as the entity in power. The series as a whole is streamable on Disney+.
