Keanu Reeves is no stranger to appearing on the big screen, but now fans of him will be seeing him return with a famous co-star of his early film career on the Broadway stage. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winters, made famous by their portrayal of rockstars, best friends, and time travelers Bill and Ted in Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure and its sequels Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey and Bill and Ted Face the Music, are working together again; starting a new excellent adventure as Broadway stars in “a new Broadway production” of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, directed by Jamie Lloyd.

Beckett’s Waiting for Godot details the main characters engaging in “a variety of discussions and encounters while awaiting the titular Godot, who never arrives”. The characters, Vladimir and Estragon, wait beside a tree discussing many topics without rhyme or reason yet discuss them in detail. With an emphasis on dialogue and attempts to find meaning in the universe, Keanu’s Broadway debut as Estragon is dipping back into his roots as Ted. Alex Winters’s portrayal of Vladimir will not be his first time on stage. Winters played John Darling in the 1979 production of Peter Pan and Louis Leonowens in The King & I according to Variety.
