As fans gear up for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, many are already looking forward to the franchise’s third film Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. However, Amy Pascal spoke with Variety at the premiere of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse fans can expect to see much more from their favorite web-slinging superhero with a live-action Miles Morales film in the works along with a Spider-Woman film saying, “It’s all happening.”

Fans were naturally inclined to fan-cast Hailee Steinfield as the lead for a potential Spider-Woman film. When Steinfield was asked about taking over as the lady web-slinger, she said, “This is like my dream job; sign me up over and over again…And it’s a dream to be in a space that feels so comfortable but also creative and free and just exciting to be a part of.”

Pascal also mentioned the fourth Spider-Man film with Tom Holland is still moving forward; however, due to the strike between the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), the film’s developed is currently paused explaining, “We’re in the process, but the writers strike nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters, and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.” At the premiere, Sony executive Tom Rothman was also asked about Spider-Man’s future in live-action or animated films, to which he remarked, “If I told you, I’d have to kill you.”

The sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sees the return of Shameil Moore as Miles Morales, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, and Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy.

Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse is set to open in theatres on June 2.
