Potential MCU Phase 4 Casting Leaks

Welcome back, folks.

With Avengers: Endgame bringing an end to the story arcs of some our favorite MCU heroes who have been there since the very beginning, it is certain that Marvel are going to have to bring onboard some new blood to carry the torch forward and bring more Marvel heroes and villains onto the big and/or small screen. Today, we are going to be covering some potential casting leaks for Phase 4 of the MCU.

Now, before we dive into the new information, it is worth noting that Marvel leaks haven't exactly always been "on the money." However, some have. With any potential leaks, it is wise not to take them as gospel as, even when they are right, the payoff doesn't always come until the film or TV series starts playing.

The leaks themselves originally come from Reddit, specifically the user "4chan" who has also been providing leaked information regarding plot spoilers for several Marvel properties in development. Whilst some of these leaks do seem logical based on the stories we have had so far, others are a bit out of reach.

Below are a couple of the leaks which have been shared:

  • The Greek Gods will be making an appearance in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder. Russel Crowe is set to play King of the Gods, Zeus.

  • Idris Elba will also, apparently, be set to return in the above, as well as having a role in the Loki TV series.

The Russel Crowe leak has been brought up previously, and it isn't exactly out of the question for Idris Elba to return in Loki, considering what we know about the show so far. However, having him return for the fourth Thor film is a bit of a strange, considering his character does bite the dust at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War. As we have covered previously, though, death in the MCU doesn't necessarily mean the end.

So the above are new and recurring cast members which don't seem out of the ordinary. However, the list below has actors who have allegedly been cast in currently unknown roles within the MCU:

  • Kiernan Shipka (Sabrina the Teenage Witch)

  • Gwendoline Christie (Force Awakens, Last Jedi, Game of Thrones)

  • Charlie Hunnam (King Arthur, Sons of Anarchy)

  • Jim Carrey (90's comedy in general, Sonic the Hedgehog)

  • Richard Armitage (The Hobbit Trilogy)

  • Michell Dockery (Downton Abbey)

  • Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones)

The above list is filled with extremely talented actors, so it's completely believable that a trip to the MCU would be in the cards. The question is, though, whom would they play?

Considering that the MCU is already filled with in-jokes and hilarious improv acting, it would be amazing to see Jim Carrey bring his special brand of manic comedy to the MCU as well.

A little bonus fact for you: if Richard Armitage is indeed set to play an upcoming role in the MCU, it would mean he has actually appeared twice. Armitage played the HYDRA Agent who murders Dr. Erskine in Captain America: The First Avenger.

As always, we will bring you more updates when we can.

Until next time!
