Pedro Pascal Teases That 'The Mandalorian' Will Show More No-Helmet Scenes In Season 3
Will The Mandalorian season three feature a helmet-less Mando? This is a question fans began asking after the The Mandalorian actor Pedro Pascal had an interview with IndieWire, where he opened up about the possibility of having more scenes in season three that would feature Mando without his iconic helmet.
In the interview, Pascal talked about how his character Din Djarin (The Mandalorian) will possibly have a change of his beliefs after the events of season two, which had the fans balling their eyes out and speechless of what's yet to come.
WARNING: Spoilers for The Mandalorian season two ahead!
During season two of Star Wars’ first live-action series The Mandalorian, Mando himself went through a very emotional journey, trying to bring The Child to his kind. These events lead Mando and The Child to meet a familiar character who has been involved with conflicts pertaining to Mandalore: Jedi Ahsoka Tano, played by Rosario Dawson in "Chapter 13: The Jedi." During this specific episode, we learn the path Mando and The Child will have to take, and we also learn that The Child’s name is Grogu.
Grogu was taken by Giancarlo Esposito’s character Moff Gideon, which led to an action-packed rescue mission. During this, Mando had to find were Grogu was taken. This led Mando to remove his helmet for the second time in the series, to perform a security scan. This gave the audience the impression that Mando's beliefs were changing, as all he cared about now was finding Grogu.
After a victorious rescue mission, Mando handed Grogu to Luke Skywalker himself, who came to Grogu’s aid after being summoned by the child himself. Mando was ready to say goodbye to his little green friend, but not before removing his helmet and seeing Grogu with his very own eyes, which many fans believe is a nod to Darth Vader’s death in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi.
Pascal said that the events of season two may have changed his character and his beliefs when he said:
“As much as he says this is the way, that doesn’t mean this is the only way. I find it fascinating playing with that. We don’t know what he ends up being. He took his helmet off in a room full of people.”
The Mandalorian actor finds the idea of Mando’s future being completely in the air fascinating since he can now be comfortable being around others without his helmet. This can also be proven as now Mando has seen other Mandalorians like the legendary Star Wars: The Clone Wars character Bo-Katan, who removed her helmet in front of Mando himself.
Mando was told that he was a child of The Watch, which showed him that his people weren’t the only Mandalorians. These ideas might give us a Mando like we’ve never seen before in season three of The Mandalorian. All we know now is that the show has begun filming its third season, and that it will premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
Although we have to wait a whole year for a third season of The Mandalorian, this year will open its doors to the new upcoming Star Wars series like Ahsoka and The Book of Boba Fett, with the latter premiering this December.
Even if season three of The Mandalorian is one whole year away, fans have already been making many speculations. Some have talked about it being connected to the sequel trilogy, as Grogu could be part of Luke’s new Jedi temple. Others believe that Bo-Katan will be the new antagonist of the series. And now, because of Pascal’s interview with IndieWire, fans believe that season three will show a helmet-less Mando. But which of these will actually be true? One can only be certain about this: The Mandalorian season three will come with even more surprises.
