As we continue down the path to the next phase in the MCU, we have some great releases coming in the next few months. In theatres, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 and The Marvels are making their much-anticipated premiere in the next few months, and over on Disney+, we have Secret Wars coming too. When Disney announced their plans for future series, one which made everyone excited was Agatha: Coven Of Chaos which will be featuring the standout character and villain, although some could argue the Scarlett Witch was the bad guy, Agatha Harkness played by phenomenal actor Kathryn Hahn. Now thanks to legendary stage and screen actor Patti LuPone, we get a better glimpse into what to expect in the Agatha series.

Appearing on The View to promote her role in the upcoming Beau Is Afraid the girls from the show did a little digging on Patti’s role in the upcoming Marvel series and were given some great insight. When asked what the series was about, knowing Marvel and Disney can be a little tight-lipped about spoilers, LuPone said, “It’s a coven of witches and I play Lilia Calderu, who apparently is in the Marvel world. I researched her, she’s hot, she’s really hot, she’s got a great body and hair.”  In addition to Lilia Calderu and Agatha Harkness, we know it will feature a third witch and familiar, “we are a cover of witches and the witches are: Kathryn Hahn, Aubrey Plaza and familiar – if anybody know Heartstopper – is Joe Locke.”

Lilia Calderu is an interesting addition to the MCU but not unexpected. In the comics, Lilia and her family have been responsible for being the keeper of the Book of Cagliostro for centuries. If that book sounds familiar you may remember it being the source of the Ancient One’s long life as well as the details of other darker spells like communicating with Dormammu which was the focal point in Doctor Strange.

In addition to giving us a glimpse into the new series, when asked about the release date, LuPone stated they were still filming but expect a 2024 release date. If multiverses are going to be a theme throughout the next phases of the MCU and based on the mind-bending Wandavision and Doctor Strange: Multiverse Of Madness I think we can expect some big things to track with this show.
