Nintendo Announced That 'GoldenEye 007' Will Be Coming To Switch
After years of legal troubles with MGM regarding the 007 license, GoldenEye 007 will finally be receiving ports to modern consoles, more specifically the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One through the Xbox Game Pass. In the latest Nintendo Direct, it was announced that the landmark Nintendo 64 first-person shooter GoldenEye 007 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch as part of the Nintendo Switch Online Nintendo 64 library. The title was announced alongside Mario Party, Mario Party 2, and PilotWings 64 coming sometime this year and Mario Party 3, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Stadium 2, 1080 Snowboarding, and Excitebike 64 coming to the service in 2023. No date has been announced for GoldenEye 007, simply stating it was coming soon. GoldenEye 64 will also feature online play exclusively on the Switch at this time. On the same day, Rare also announced that a remastered port was coming to the Xbox.
The Xbox Game Pass port will feature a 4k resolution, smoother frame rates, and local split-screen multiplayer. Furthermore, the classic campaign and cheat modes will return. It will feature 16:9 play and support for dual analog sticks. The port will come free to those who have purchased a digital copy of Rare Replay.
